Alfred McLelland Burrage (1880–1956) was a prolific British writer remembered most fondly for his tales of horror. His two most famous collections are Some Ghost Stories (1927) and Someone in the Room (1931, written under the pseudonym “Ex-Private X”). Burrage’s short fiction has been widely anthologized.
